Practice will start at 6:15 PM with league play starting promptly at 6:30 PM. There will be three position rounds on weeks 10 (November 8, 2023), 20 (January 24, 2024) and 30 (April 3, 2024). USBC Rule 11 – Forfeit/Delay of Game

“No unreasonable delay in the progress of any game is permitted. If a player or team in a league or tournament refuses to proceed with a game after being directed to do so by a league or tournament official, the game or series shall be declared forfeited.” No team(s) will be allowed to wait for players to arrive once practice is over.

Fees

Weekly fees will be paid by each bowler in the amount of $20.00. This will be broken down as follows: Lineage $12.75, Treasure Fee $0.25, Prize Fund $7.00. The last 2 weeks of bowling must be paid by week 7 (October 18, 2023). It is important that these last 2 weeks be paid promptly to protect team members against unannounced dropouts. All checks must be made out to CCBC or Coal Creek Bowling Center. The league will bank with CCBC. The league will be responsible for collecting all bad checks and will charge a fee of $25.00 in addition to the amount of the check, which will go to the house. After the 2nd returned check, only cash or credit cards will be accepted. Any bowler who is behind 2 weeks of payment must pay by the following week or they will not be allowed to bowl until their league fees are current. Team captains are responsible for collecting team monies and assuring all entries are properly recorded in the envelope. Team captains must turn in envelopes into the secretary by the end of the first game. Any bowler who quits the league will forfeit all monies paid to the league.

 Points

5 points will be awarded each night, broken down as follows: 1 point for each team game won, and 2 points for team series.

 Prize Committee

There will be a prize committee appointed by week 2 (September 13, 2023). The prize list must be submitted to the league no later than the 6th week of bowling (October 11, 2023).

 Awards

To qualify for individual awards, a bowler must have bowled 2/3 (60) of the scheduled games. Team and individual awards will be paid for no more than 3 spots in each category of High Game and High Series. Only one prize per person will be awarded in these categories. High Series will be awarded over High Game, Handicap over Scratch. In addition, individual prizes will be awarded for High Average, paying no more than 3 spots. The distribution will be based on the approved prize list submitted by the prize committee. If a tie occurs for any award, the money will be split evenly. Team captains are responsible for the distribution of prize money to the respective team members.

 Averages

Averages will be established after the bowler’s first 3 games.

Handicap

Individual handicaps will be based on 90% of 230. The team handicap for each game will be the sum of individual handicaps.

Legal Lineup

A legal lineup will consist of 2 bowlers from the team’s roster. Rosters may contain up to 6 bowlers. The minimum legal lineup must be present by the 3rd frame of the 1st game. Teams without a legal lineup will forfeit that game. Position Rounds: Any of the rostered team members may bowl on a position round if they have an established league average with minimum of 9 games, otherwise the rostered member with the most games must use their average.

 Substitutes/Pacers

Substitutes and Pacers will not be allowed.

Absentee & Vacant Scores

Absentee scores shall be allowed when a team has a legal lineup but less than a full lineup at the start of any game in a set. If an Absent bowler is used, absent bowler must be the rostered team member with the most games played. Handicap will be figured on the actual average. If a team loses a bowler and cannot replace the bowler, a vacancy score of 160 will be used with a handicap of 63. If you know you are going to have an absent bowler, please plan to pay ahead.

Bowling Unopposed

If a team is unable to bowl on a regularly scheduled night, they will need to schedule a pre-bowl or make-up. Teams will be allowed 6 pre-bowl/make-ups per season. After the first 6, teams will forfeit that night. The house must be notified in advance so arrangements can be made for pre-bowls and make-up. Individual pre-bowls or make-up are not allowed. Pre-bowl/make-up games must be completed 2 weeks before or after the scheduled bowling night and must be completed before the next position round. If a team does not schedule a pre-bowl or make-up and fails to show up, the opposing team must bowl within 40 pins of their team average to receive a win.

 Vacant/Bye Team

The team bowling unopposed must bowl within 40 pins of their team average to receive a win.

Team Captain Responsibilities

Team captains must turn in the re-cap sheets at the end of each set. No figures will be changed after both captains have signed the re-cap except the secretary may change arithmetic errors. The computer totals will be the final decisions in arithmetic errors between handwritten and computer scores.
